Instagram and Twitter Weight Loss Hashtags to Share Your Journey

Weight Loss Hashtags on Social Media

When you’ve decided to share your journey on social media, using the right weight loss hashtags will play a large role in making sure they’re seen.  This is especially true if you’ll be focusing on Instagram or Twitter.

Choosing the Right Weight Loss Hashtags

Not all weight loss hashtags are equally beneficial. The key is to know which ones are best to use for each post and update you make.  It’s also important to keep in mind that there is no single proven strategy and the most popular options are always changing.

Therefore, while it is always great to hop on board with some of the hottest weight loss hashtags, it’s also important to remember that relevance is key.  Don’t simply use one because you think it is popular.  Make sure it actually fits what you have to say.  After all, if you use a hashtag that has to do with keto dieting, but your post – and your own weight strategy – have nothing to do with that subject, then you won’t be doing yourself any favors.

Remember that weight loss hashtags aren’t about getting just anyone to see your posts. They’re meant to make sure that people who are interested in what you have to say will find you.  If you abuse the use of hashtags and use them in a misleading way, you’ll likely only earn yourself some nasty comments and thumbs-downs.

Which Ones Best Suit Your Post?

There are lots of great ways to choose the right hashtags to match the posts you’re making to update your progress along your journey. Often, getting to the basics is one of the best roads for you to take.  If your post is about losing weight, consider simply using #weightloss as one of your hashtags. If you’re talking about the exercises you’re doing, you might simply use #fitness or #workout.  If you’re feeling proud of what you’re doing for your wellness, good old reliable #health might be a great place to start.

Don’t be afraid to add a second or third to your weight loss hashtags, if relevant.  You can add more basics such as #diet, or you can get a bit more complex by combining words and sharing the way you’re feeling. You can use them to share what’s driving or motivating you or how it’s affecting you, such as #feelingstrong #selfcare or #ideservethis. If an existing option doesn’t quite cut it, don’t be afraid to simply make one up!
